Income Quintiles
WHAT ARE INCOME QUINTILES?
Our additional variables support companies in making well-founded and data-based decisions. For example, the advanced economic data can be used for market and location analysis or sales planning. The income quintiles divide households into five classes according to their disposable household income at the national level. The distribution is such that there is an equal number of households in each class.
The first quintile represents the 20 % of households having the lowest income (on a national level), the fifth quintile represents the 20 % of households with the highest income (on a national level) in each area.
The data Households by Income Quintiles comprises:
- Two digit country code by ISO 3166
- Administrative code / Postal code / Micro-code
- Name of administrative area / Name of the most populous administrative area / Name of the respective micro-area or the next higher level
- Population year average: total number
- Population year average: per mill of country
- Total number of households per Income Quintile: from 1st (lowest) Income Quintile up to 5th Income Quintile
